Story : The Dhawaral word for Eel is ‘Bara’

This artwork represents the journey of the Bara in the Nepean River, where | grew up.

One day a small group of Bara met by the stone wall, the end of the world as they know it. Often warned by their elders to stay away, as those who get too close to the edge, will be consumed and never seen again. it was certain death as far as they were concern. However Baramada was a very curioyus eel, and one day he decided to venture closer to the wall, when suddenly the wall opened up and swallowed him.

He was thrust into the world below, tumbling for what seemed like an eternity, Baramada, found a whole new world to discover. The river spanned far and wide, and he met many new friends along the way including a platypus and turlte.

With his new found friends, Baramada ventured into the unknown river systems with his new friends and had many exciting adventures that would change his life forever.

What we learn from Baramada’s Journey is to follow our own instincts, and goals, no matter how many people tell us we are waisting our time. You have one life, it is yours alone to live, so go live your best life.
